Tell us about your mechanic: My dad-Mike. He keeps my bike in tip top shape and is teaching me to maintain them myself. What is Shannon like and how has he helped? He is cool! He has helped me a lot in cornering and all aspects of racing! What is a typical day for you? Wake up early, go to school. Play games on the computer, do homework. Call all my friends to see if they want to ride. Practice in the back yard or local track if possible. Eat a healthy dinner, watch TV, got to bed. What do you do to get hyped and ready for your next moto? Stretch out and drink lots of water. Do you do any other crossover sports? Snowboarding, wrestling, snocross, shotgun sports. If you had to pick any other sport to be pro at, what would you pick? Pro snowboarder.
Favorite joke: Two guys walked into a bar, the said, "ouch!" What are your goals for 2005? Top 10 at any Nationals I attend.

Good balance, confident, learns quickly. Describe his personality: Quiet, but funny, quirky, helpful to others, a good sport. What one thing have you tried to teach him: To be confident and strive to be the best. Make goals and work hard to attain them. How has the sport of motocross help bring you family closer? It is something the whole family enjoys. Even Grandma and Grandpa come to the races. We like traveling around the country together and camping on the weekends. Tell us about your most memorable road trip: Driving straight through the night coming home from Loretta's. Showing up at the local district race sporting my national number 5, just in time for the gate to drop and proceed to get the holeshot! Do you have any advice for other parents who plan to take part in the sport the way that you have? Know when to advance your child to the next level or bigger bike. Try to make this fun, not a chore! Communication and praise for even the smallest accomplishments are the key! |
