The opening round of the SX didn't go without controversy. The typical Dungey/Lawrence feud was fueled by the fact that One Industries signed on Ryan's nemesis. . Racing was great to watch. Unfortunately Trey Canard ran right into the downed JLaw around a corner on the first lap, which contributed to the 14th place finsh. Dungey also got off to a bad start , but managed to finish 3rd in the main. Dungey was released from One industries and is now riding for Fox.(Photo Credit: Jake Klingensmith)
The 2008 Pro National season is about to wrap up for the year. Trey Canard is still sitting 8th in points with one to go after missing one round because of a head injury and missing the last two rounds due to a broken femur. Ryan Dungey is 2nd in points behind the champion Ryan Villopoto. Dungey has won a couple of rounds, one at Washougal and the other at Spring Creek. Jimmy Albertson was just getting back to the old Jimmy and jammin on the track finishing top 10 in the Motocross class until the week before Millville, he dislocated his shoulder and had to miss 2 rounds. It is possible he may be back for the final round. Millville is the debuting race each year for the A riders that just finished up their amateur careers at Lorretta Lynn's. We had a bundle this year including Blake Wharton, Tyler Wharton, PJ Larson, and Hunter Hewitt. Be sure to be watching for these guys in the final results to see how they are doing next season! Maier Wins First Round of Canada Pro Nationals

The opening round of the 2008 Monster Energy Canadian Nationals was this past weekend in St Julie, PQ and Monster Energy/Thor/Leading Edge Kawasaki rider Teddy Maier grabbed his first ever win in the MX2 class. Maier started midpack in the first go around and moved to the front quickly to grab the win. His third place in the second moto was good for the overall.

Trey Canard 2008 East Coast Lites Champion

Trey Canard started his rookie SX season this year. The first round in Atlanta was amazing as he won his first SX while leading every lap. The next two rounds were also won. Everyone remembers Daytona and the rainfest of a race that was. Trey charged through the soupy mud and gained 25 more points. The next round was a 4th. The Dallas main came around and we thought that was it. Trey got tangled in the first corner and was DEAD last. He got up, bike still running, and worked his way up through the pack into 4th place. Bad luck at Detroit gave him a 10th and only a 3 point lead on Ryan Villopoto. That meant St. Louis was winner take all. After a true battle between the two, Trey pulled away from the pack and won his 4th SX of his rookie year, claiming the East Coast Lites Championship! (Photo Credit GuyB-VitalMX)
